Thyroid Scintigraphy (Tc-99m pertechnetate)
For goiter diseases, presence of mass palped in neck, clinic hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism cases, thyroid, diseases in which radiotherapy is applied to neck zone, suspicion of retrosternal goiter, before and after thyroid operation, suspicion of thyroid cancer and patients who are diagnosed with cancer and in whom there’s a high likelihood of metastases.
Diagnostic I-131 scintigraphy (2-5mCi).
In thyroid cancers, before and after RI ablation and RI treatment.
Radioactive Iodine Treatment
Since radioactive at low dose is used in Basedow disease and hyperactive adenoma, there is no need for clinical observation.
Thyroid Ca treatment: Applied under clinical observation.
Parathyroid Scintigraphy (Tc-99m MIBI scintigraphy)
Used in diagnosis and localization of parathyroid adenoma and parathyroid hyperplasia.
